In case you’re keeping track, the Mozilla team just released another stable version of its popular open-source web browser, Firefox 14 is now out and available for download for Windows, Mac and Linux.
The latest release doesn’t bring noticeable changes, but it does come with various enhancements that will make users feel a little more secure when browsing the web. Perhaps the most important update is the new implementation of HTTPS when doing searches with Google — not something new, but now has been rolled out to everyone. Regular users might not see any difference, but searching with Firefox will now give the users (by default) an extra layer of security.
Firefox 14’s “awesome bar” also incorporates auto-complete when typing a term or URL. Moreover users can expect better performance while playing online games with the mouse, thanks to a new Pointer Lock API implementation from Mozilla. Finally, the open-source web browser also brings full-screen mode support for Mac OS X Lion users.
