Location-independent access to your emails from Outlook Mail on the web with any browser on any device is handy. The same applies to your contacts as well. Outlook Mail on the web is part of Microsoft 365, Exchange Server, and Exchange Online. Export or back up Outlook Mail on the web contacts as a CSV file, then import those contacts to any email app, such as Gmail or Yahoo.

Export Contacts From Outlook Mail on the Web

To export a file of your Outlook Mail on the web contacts:

Instructions in this article apply to Outlook.com and Outlook Online.

  • In the Navigation pane, select People.
  • Select Manage > Export contacts.
  • In the Export contacts screen, select the Contacts from this folder dropdown arrow and choose All contacts.
  • If your contacts are organized in folders, select a folder to export only the contacts in that folder. By default, contacts are stored in the Contacts folder.
  • Select Export.
  • A contacts.csv file downloads to your computer. If prompted, choose a location for the file.
  • Import your address book from the CSV file into any email program or service.

In the Navigation pane, select People.

Select Manage > Export contacts.

In the Export contacts screen, select the Contacts from this folder dropdown arrow and choose All contacts.

If your contacts are organized in folders, select a folder to export only the contacts in that folder. By default, contacts are stored in the Contacts folder.

Select Export.

A contacts.csv file downloads to your computer. If prompted, choose a location for the file.
