How to Get to Tombsward Catacombs in Elden Ring (Location)
You can get to this dungeon by heading south from the Church of the Pilgrimage, the site of the Grace in Limgave. As you see a Minor Erdtree, head north and you will come across a door behind a huge stone pillar. Interact and open the door behind this pillar. Climb down the stairs to find a Site of grace quite immediately after descending some stairs.
So, here’s the complete walkthrough for the Tombsward Catacombs in Elden Ring:
Once you climb down the stairs, you need to use a Stonesword Key at the imp statue to uncast the seal. But be wary of the Big Skeletons that will rise as you enter.
You can find the Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook [9] below the statue near a corpse.
Exit the room and head right to climb down the stairs.
Then, head right and take another right to find the Grave Glowort [1].
You will also find another Grave Glowort [2] to the right close to this one.
From there, you will see some stairs leading to the lower level.
Climb down those stairs to find a Ghost Glowort and Grave Glowort over there.
You will also encounter some big skeletons around this area. You can either defeat or rush and collect these items without fighting them.
Now, go ahead to the archway and take a right at the end. You will find a tunnel-like route with a fire-breather statue.
If the fire damage strikes you, it can cause massive damage. So, pause for a while at the bend to avoid this damage.
You will find a Human Bone Shard on the way to the fire breather statue.
The statue throws fire within short time frames. You can turn this off by hitting the Statue.
As you hit the statue, it will descend under the ground. Head to the right corner of the room to find a Grave Violet.
Once you have collected it, head into a room with two empty chairs. You can find a Grave Glowort in the middle of both chairs.
You can also find the Prattling Pate “Thank You” to the right by pillaging the remains from the corpse. But you might get surrounded by hordes of Big Skeletons.
So, try to dodge your way out of this one rather than fight them all.
Head straight to the Firebreather statue that descended under the ground.
As you stand on it, it will take you to the upper level of the dungeon. You can collect several Grave Violets around the upper level.
From there, head straight and take a right where you will see a huge Skeleton statue.
Pull the lever below this statue to unlock and open a heavy door. You need to drop down and climb some stairs.
Then, take a left and head right into the door with two giant Skeleton statues.
You will find a green mist below these stairs. Interact and traverse through the Mist to find the Cemetry Shade boss.
How to Beat Cemetry Shade in Tombsward Catacombs – Dungeon Boss
You can defeat this boss in a single blow with the Bloodhound’s Fang Curved Sword. But for that, you need to defeat the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in Limgrave. So, here are some tips to defeat this boss:
As the Cemetry Shade can inflict Hemorrhage or Blood Loss build up, keep Stanching Boluses to prevent it.
This boss can teleport throughout the fight and inflict blood loss through the shield. So, dodging or parrying might be challenging.
Nevertheless, you can also distract him with different Spirit Ashes. The Cemetry Shade is extremely weak to Holy Damage and vulnerable if the poise is broken.
So, try to break its poise to deal massive damage. Also, keep a maximum number of Stanching Boluses in handy for this boss fight.
Once you have defeated the Cemetry Shade, you get 22,000 Runes and Lhutel the Headless Spirit Summon as a reward. You can use this spirit summon at the Caelid Colosseum for the PVP mode against other players. So, defeating this boss is definitely worth the risk.
