Everyone seems to have different thoughts on a daily shutdown of their PC. Whether it’s for reasons of not wanting to waste electricity or not wanting to harm the computer components, different people have different habits. Do you shut down your PC at night?

Some people insist on shutting down their PC every night because they don’t want to waste the energy that it would take to run the computer all night. Some people also believe that leaving their computer on all night will harm it, but that has never been proven.

Likewise, there are some who believe that shutting the computer down every night will harm the computer components. They believe the constant on and off will lead to additional strain on the system. But again, it’s never been proven that it’s harmful.

Many people just don’t want to be bothered to sign back in again to the computer, their favorite websites, their apps, their email, etc. It’s easier just to leave it on all the time and have it available first thing when you get up in the morning.

Which camp do you belong in? Do you shut down your computer every night because you don’t want to harm it or because you’re saving energy? Or do you leave it on because you’re afraid of harming it or out of laziness?
