One of the newest features of OS X Mavericks is the ability to automatically update apps that have been downloaded from the Mac App Store. Although some find it convenient, others find it annoying.
If you’re in the latter group, here’s how to disable automatic app updates in OS X Mavericks.
Open System Preferences and click on the “App Store” preference pane.
Uncheck the box next to “automatically check for updates,” which will also automatically uncheck the other three subset of options.
Now, your App Store apps will no longer be automatically updated. However, you can always re-enable them if you change your mind, by following the same steps.
