In Diablo 2 Resurrected, the Monastery is an important location as it is the site of the fifth and sixth quests of the game. This makes the monastery a very important place to get to in the game. While reaching there may sound simple, it actually can be quite complex and tricky to do so. In this guide, we will show you how to get to it.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Monastery Catacombs & Barracks Location
Monastery Barracks Location
We will first begin with the location of the Monastery Barracks, as this particular place is easier to locate when compared to the Catacombs.
In order to get to the Monastery Barracks, you will first need to go through the Cold Plains, Stony Field, and Dark Wood. If you have not gone through them, you will first have to do so. Not going through them will result in the Barracks being unavailable to you.
Once you go through the said locations, you should move on towards the Black Marsh. Once here, you need to look for a road that leads you towards The Tamoe Highland. After you locate this road, walk on it. We recommend you stick to the road as much as possible. That being said, you can choose to take detours or shortcuts as long as you know the way. Doing so will also help you level up in the game.
Continuing to follow the road to The Tamoe Highland will take you to the gate of the Monastery. Once you reach here, you need to be aware of the presence of enemies that are way stronger. We recommend you to be patient and take your time when fighting them. Also, use your potions wisely so that you do not run out of them. After a while, you will come across an exit that leads to a place known as The Outer Cloister.
While The Outer Cloister might not be the most exciting or eventful area in the game, it does feature its own waypoint. You need to make sure you activate it in order to add it to your list. Once you do so, you will find the Monastery Barracks right after the Outer Cloister.
The Barracks will have no levels, but it is important to note it down as this will lead you to the path that goes to the Jail.
While the Jail is not needed for this particular quest, we recommend you check each and every corner of this place until you find The Smith. This is because you are more likely to find the boss in an area of the map that has not been explored before. You need to keep exploring right until you find him.
Once you do encounter the boss and finish fighting, you should speak with the forge. Doing so will let you get your hands on the Horadric Malus. You need to get it as this is the exact tool that Charsi needed. Taking this item back to her at the camp will help complete the quest. You will now have the chance to imbue a piece of gear.
Monastery Catacombs Location
After you successfully complete the Tools of the Trade quest, you need to open a town portal with the help of a scroll. This will help you easily get back to the quest again.
Once you get back to the camp, you need to speak to Deckard Cain. Doing so will help you start the Sisters to the Slaughter mission. You will now head back to The Barracks and then into the Jail. Once you get into Jail level 1, you will need to find its waypoint. In doing so, you will keep an extra option of heading back to the town in case you do not have a town scroll.
Now, you just need to battle past the scores of enemies right until you leave The Inner Cloister.
Leaving the Inner Cloister will take you straight to The Cathedral. In the Cathedral, you will find a few enemies. You will need to battle them in order to descend. Once you do so, you will be able to get to the Monastery Catacombs.
These Catacombs have a total of three different levels. To make your life easier, you will find a waypoint in the second level itself. Make sure to activate this waypoint. When you make it to the third level of the Catacombs, you will be tasked with killing Andariel. Once you do so, you will have completed the quest.
And that’s it. Following the simple steps in this guide will help get you to the Monastery Barracks and Catacombs in Diablo 2 Resurrected. As you have read, these are very important locations in the game, and they play a big part in the Tools of the Trade and Sisters to the Slaughter quests.
