As Microsoft keeps working to release Office 2016 alongside Windows 10 later this year, new screenshots from a leaked build (16.0.3823.1005) from the desktop version of the suite of apps reveals a new “colorful” theme.

The new theme looks similar to the colors found in the touch-friendly version of Office, and it’s identical to the theme included in the current version of Office for Mac OS X, iOS, and Android with colors that unmistakably represent Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The new colorful theme will be included in Office 2016 in addition to the dark theme that Microsoft added for those who aren’t fan of the traditional color scheme in Office.

In Office 2016, Microsoft is focusing on making the suite of apps available across platform with the same experience, instead of adding new features. However, Microsoft’s Office 2016 will include new features, such as the ability to insert images into a document with the correct orientation to save users a few clicks in the process. This is in addition to other subtle changes and enhancements.

The software maker is working on the touch-optimized and a desktop version of Office 2016 and it will be released later this year in the Windows 10 timeframe.

How do you like the new theme? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
