Overwatch 2 is here and players are looking for the rank distribution in competitive for season 1. The rank distribution gives you a percentage from the entire player base in a certain rank of the game. And if you have your rank unlocked, this will let you find out where you lie among the competition. So without further ado check out the current rank distribution in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Rank Distribution

The below Rank Distribution is based on the data of the original Overwatch. Since the ranking system hasn’t changed in the two games here is where the player base is for each rank.

  • Bronze – 8%
  • Silver – 21%
  • Gold – 32%
  • Platinum – 25%
  • Diamond – 10%
  • Master – 3%
  • Grandmaster – 1%

But here are a few things that you should consider about the above distribution as it is most likely going to change based on these two major factors.

  • Many new players: Since Overwatch 2 is now a free-to-play game there are a lot more players than before for all the platforms. Thus there is a good chance there will be an increase in the percentage of players in the lower ranks. This brings us to the second reason why the rank distribution will change.
  • Bronze 5 placement bug: There is an infamous Bronze 5 placement bug in the game. In this bug, each time you rank up you still get the same rank, that is Bronze 5. And while it may not affect every player in the game. Many players reported having faced this issue.

So even if the rank distribution remains the same for higher ranks. It is safe to say there can be a noticeable difference in the distribution for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum players.
