Only a few games have left behind the legacy that Counter Strike has had on the world, and after seven years of being released Counter Striker: Global Offensive just broke another record.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive has always drawn huge numbers at E-Sports and a lot of people have grown up playing Counter Strike and on February 9, it was reported that more than 900,000 players were concurrently playing the game at a given time.
This has been achieved for the first time ever, the second most played game at the same time was Dota 2 with over 250,000 fewer players. This shows the massive gap in a large number of players that still log into Counter Strike.
CS:GO’s spike in concurrent players is puzzling but is still short of the all-time record set by PUBG with over 3 million players in 2018.
This just goes to show the massive increase in the gaming industry and it does not seem to be slowing down. Every year new records have been set while previous records are being broken with overwhelming success.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive does not look it like it will slow down especially after drawing huge crowds without any event like it did this past Saturday.
